This is the first Squirrel Girl comic I ever read and it was a hoot. Hey don't knock squirrels. I'm sure the squirrels in my hometown can take on a mountain lion.

Seriously we have Spider-Man so why not have another hero centered around animals? I mean we have King Shark....true, he's a DC character but you get the point.

This comic is just goofy and the art style reminds me of a cartoon of the 90s. The art really does nail the look of a cartoon....I suppose that's true of most comics....

It's a fun little romp with Squirrel Girl taking on Galatucs the devourer of worlds. How does Squirrel Girl deal with a godlike entity? With the help of Tony Stark.....kinda sorta. I dare don't spoil it here.

Everyone should read this RIGHT NOW!
Ryan North and Erika Henderson have made magic. This is a wonderful book that delights me every time I read it. There's so much to like, humor, action, adventure and so many puns. I can't get enough of it.
First exposure to Squirrel Girl. Wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised with the story and artwork. Have seen some excerpts of the original SG, this version definitely an upgrade.
Spectacular!!! Be warned, some people don't like this type of humor, so you might check out some of Ryan North's other stuff first (I'd recommend reading a few Dinosaur Comics, easily googlable and free). Besides the offbeat humor, this comic has a lot of heart. Also, the illustration is amazing and perfectly meshes with / complements the playful tone of the writing.

So buy this comic! Unless you hate the author's sense of humor (which you can easily discover for free using the internet).
Among the best comics Marvel has produced in the past few years. Squirrel Girl is what comic books should be fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously, it's self-aware about the ridiculousness of its concept, and it just wants to tell fun stories. Squirrel Girl resolves her conflicts through talking as much as she does with intense squirrel action, and she behaves way more heroic than any of the current cinematic heroes.
Squirrel Girl may not have the coolest powers, but she has managed to beat all the big bads Marvel can throw at her. How? With the power of squirrels! The comic is a pure delight, fun for everyone who appreciates that comics can actually be light and funny now and then.

I don't read a lot of comic books or graphic novels these days, but was offering me deeply discounted specials on certain comic book selections, and this one in particular caught my eye, so I thought "Sure, what the heck, why not?"

I'm sure glad I did! "Squirrel Girl" is action-packed, witty, clever, and imaginative. And unlike all those other comic book superheroes who are so damn serious, dark, and brooding nowadays, this one is delightfully lighthearted.
